Many essential oils have been recognized through research as powerful agents to help maintain normal balance in the digestive system.
Here we will share several natural solutions for keeping a balanced digestive tract.
The digestive system is comprised of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract and is a series of connected organs along a thirty-foot pathway responsible for chewing food, digesting and absorbing nutrients, and expelling waste.
- Internal: Place 1-5 drops in water and drink, take capsule, lick off back of hand, or place drop(s) on or under tongue to allow impact directly in stomach and intestines.
- Topical: Apply oils topically on abdomen and/or bottoms of feet for relief.
Consider using a warm bath or a warm compress to help ease feelings of queasiness, gas and/or bloating:
For bath: Add 10-15 drops of Digestzen to bath salts (i.e. Epsom); stir oils into salts; place salts in hot (as is tolerable) bathwater and soak for 20 minutes.
For compress: Apply Digestzen with carrier oil to abdomen. Place warm, moist cloth over top to create soothing compress. Repeat as needed.
